Traveling to Japan for ICPE2022:
If you live outside of Japan and are considering traveling to Japan for on-site participation in ICPE2022, the following link shows the latest requirements in the border control for the entry to Japan.

Here are additional remarks from us. Please note the border measure can be subject to a sudden change and make sure you check the latest information.
From 11th Oct., ERFS registration is
no longer required. Visa exemption for short-term stay is resumed. Foreigners
from countries other than countries listed in the following link still needs a
visa to enter Japan.

1. If you decide to travel to Japan for the conference,
please contact the conference committee to give the following information.
We have to apply the Certificate of Registration to
ERFS(Entrants,Returnees Follow-up System). You need this
certification to entre Japan and to apply the visa (if you need a visa) .
* Your passport date(Please send a copy of the page in your passport
that has your photo, name etc. on it.)
* Your accommodation(Hotel) details in Japan (Hotel name, Address,
Tel No., Check-in/out date etc.).
Please note that you need to book a hotel first,before the
registration to the ERFS.
2. Please check the visa requirement for the entry to Japan.
As of September 15, 2022, all foreign nationals traveling to
Japan need to apply for a visa. Visa exemption for short-term
stay is currently not applied.

Before booking your hotel or air ticket, we would suggest first consulting with the Japanese Embassy in your country to see what you'll need for visa application. In many countries, the ERFS registration is required before the visa application.
3. If you are not from "the designated countries" and are vaccinated
three times (booster vaccinated), then you do not have to
self-isolate in a hotel after arrival at Japan (in the regulation
as of September 15). Please check more detailed conditions in the
link above.

prepare for them in your own responsibility.
